Who’s Digg?
I’m Detroit comic Digg Johnson.
Digg is a nickname that comes from the phrase “dis nigga”. Other Black kids called me this, so it wasn’t racist. Just playfully painful rejection.
“Dis nigga” translates as “this weird kid” to people that DIDN’T drop out of school during 3rd grade English.
“[This weird kid] got titties!” I was chubby. I still am, but I do push ups to make my breasts manly.
“[This weird kid] can’t talk right!” I stuttered. After therapy, I’ve got it 90% contro-tro-tro … I’ve got it HANDLED!
“[This weird kid] wanna be White!” I was a nerd. I never wanted to be White – I wanted to be Megatron from Transformers, he was gunmetal gray!
As an adult nerd, I just want to use my insight, intellect and sense of humor to BASH bullies, WAKE UP the stupid and EMBARRASS the so-called superior.
Now, I’m Laughing at THEM.
